WHOLE SCHOOL APPROACH - FOOD
The ‘whole school approach’ is the framework that guides the development of a healthy food culture in schools. This approach is endorsed by the Headteacher, enshrined in the school development plan, and permeates the whole school experience. The approach ensures consistency: what is taught about food and healthy eating in lessons is reflected and reinforced in the daily life of the school, with the dining room becoming an extra classroom.
Oakridge Primary School are committed to providing healthy, nutritional food across all services. Ensuring pupils are able to concentrate during lessons, enjoy play/sports and have an overall feeling of wellbeing. All of our menus are School Food Plan compliant and our recipes are monitored via the Saffron system, providing accurate nutritional information. We only use recommended suppliers, who are professionally audited and any bought in products, occasionally used, are guaranteed School Compliant. Our services are audited each term, providing evidence of compliance.
We are a NUT free school and endeavour to only source nut free products.
